Introducing the ASA ANESTHESIOLOGY 2010 MOBILE APP

ASA is launching our first ever ANESTHESIOLOGY 2010 Mobile Application for use on any smart phone with a web browser.  Experience this unique technology with maps and personalized visit lists for the ultimate show experience.

The ANESTHESIOLOGY 2010 Mobile Application will be made available to access starting on Monday, October 11.

Below are instructions and different key features that you will be able to access during Anesthesiology 2010.

Getting the Mobile Application

The ANESTHESIOLOGY 2010 Mobile App is FREE for attendees and exhibitors to use and is completely customizable.  Simply type the URL that will be available on Monday, October 11th in any mobile web browser.

It is recommended to save the ANESTHESIOLOGY 2010 Mobile App to your bookmarks on your mobile web browser for quicker access later.

Exhibitor Search

Find an exhibitor by clicking on any of the search types within the Exhibitors section of the App.  This section is located on the navigation bar at the bottom of each page marked “Exhibitors”.  You will be able to search by booth number, company name or by product category.

Session Search

Find a session by clicking on any of the search types within the Sessions section of the App.  This section is located on the navigation bar at the bottom of each page marked “Sessions”.  You will be able to search by day, by presenters, by session category (Problem-Based Learning Discussions, Refresher Course Lectures, Scientific Abstracts, Medically Challenging Cases, etc…) and by room number.

Saving Exhibitors and Sessions to myPlan

On each exhibitor and session details page there is a button that reads “Add to myExhibitors” for exhibitors or “Add to mySessions” for sessions.  If you are logged in, the item will be saved.  If not, enter your login and the item will be saved.  Your “Email ID” is your e-mail address, and “Password” is your password you entered when creating the account.  You must create an account to have a login.

Creating an Account

To create an account click on any of the “my…” links on the Sessions or Exhibitors section of the ANESTHESIOLOGY 2010 Mobile App.  Below the login, click the link that reads “Create an account.”  Once you fill out the form and click submit you are signed in and ready to use the App to its fullest.

Taking Notes

The ANESTHESIOLOGY 2010 Mobile App lets you take notes on specific sessions or exhibitors.  To do so, first login or create an account and then use any of the searches provided to find a particular exhibitor or session.  Write your note, then click save.  Your note will be saved in “My Notes”.  Session notes are saved in the Sessions section of the Mobile App, and exhibitor notes are saved in the Exhibitors section.

Maps and Navigational Wayfinding

For maps of the general facility, exhibit hall and session rooms, click on the maps link at the bottom of every page.  For finding your way to a particular Exhibitor or Session, navigate to the profile page through any search option, and the wayfinding maps are at the bottom of each profile when you scroll down.  Maps can be enlarged on your mobile phone for easy readability.

Survey on Mobile App After some of our key sessions on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday (Opening Session, Rovenstine, Severinghaus, Wright Memorial), our survey will popup when you login to the mobile site or you can click ASA 2010 Survey at any time on the main homepage.  We also will have some additional questions specific to each of the major sessions listed above as well as a question or two about our Welcome Reception at San Diego Padres PETCO Park on Saturday, October 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  We encourage everyone to take 5 minutes of your time to answer these simple questions while attending ANESTHESIOLOGY 2010 in San Diego so we can gather this valuable feedback while onsite as well as for use for planning future Annual Meetings.
