Objective  Participants will: 1) Review and synthesize the evolving literature about blood transfusion and outcomes; 2) Understand the Modern View of the Coagulation Cascade, and how this model applies to clinical medicine; 3) Learn how the evolving indications for blood component administration will be applied in anesthesia; 4) Learn about the drugs that modulate platelet function, and to appreciate the nuances in managing patients on these drugs.
