Coding rules and payment policies can be very specific and a coder must be on top of his or her game to accurately report and obtain proper payment for anesthesia services.  Developed by the authorities in anesthesia, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the 2010 CROSSWALK ^® provides the CPT ^® anesthesia code (00100-01999) that most specifically describes the anesthesia service for a particular diagnostic or therapeutic CPT ^® procedure code.
