This updated video presentation has been created and produced by the American Society of Anesthesiologists to provide basic knowledge on the safe administration of sedative and analgesic drugs used to establish a moderate level of sedation.  Successful completion of this module is just one of the requirements that a health care organization should implement to assure patient safety.  This revised presentation should be used in conjunction with the Practice Guidelines for Sedation and Analgesia by Non-Anesthesiologists originally published in the April 2002 issue of Anesthesiology.
