As physicians’ and patients’ exposure to latex products has increased, so have the incidence and severity of reported allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis and death.  This booklet discusses clinical manifestations of latex allergy, routes of exposure, populations at risk, diagnosis, management and prevention.  Also summarizes various federal, state and professional policies on latex exposure in the workplace and includes a bibliography.
